Senior Chemistry Scientist
As a Senior R&D chemist, you will lead the development, scale-up and launch of new products to support the business growth. This role will involve hands-on laboratory work covering polymer synthesis, product characterization and application testing.

As an R&D Chemist, you will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

An organic chemistry degree (BSc/MSc/PhD)

+3 years of Industrial experience in non-isocyanate polyurethane (NIPU) or polyurethane R&D projects.

Advanced knowledge of polymer chemistry for designing/modifying polymers for emulsion.

Broad knowledge of processing techniques to fabricate stable polymer emulsion.

Broad knowledge of using common additives to adjust viscosity/stabilise emulsion/defoamer,
-
Able to search and understand literature independently.

Scaling up experience is a plus.

At Least 3 years of industrial experience in polymer or material science and/or experience of polyurethane

Proven experience in 1K and 2K Polyurethane chemistry.

Responsibilities of this Senior R&D Chemist will include:

Product formulation, testing and scale-up validation

Presenting project ideas and opportunities for consideration by business

Supporting the R&D Manager in meeting the company's objectives

Providing technical support to the Sales and Marketing teams

Maintaining COSHH and other HSE required documentation and records.

Mature, calm and confident in all internal and external communication and confident in client/partner communication both in-person and via virtual.

Pragmatic and have a logical approach to work with very high attention to detail

Quality of output should be front of mind and care about project delivery for the client

To be driven to deliver projects on budget and on time

Evidence of planning and organizing multiple projects to tight timescales and delivering measurable KPIs within the budget

Able to have succinct regular reports to the line manager

Able to work independently and develop spontaneous thinking
